Ash emissions have increased at Turvurvur crater, Rabaul volcano in Papua New Guinea. Over the past 2 days ash reached 500 m altitude and drifted across the Duke of York Islands, and Tokua airport. A crater glow is visible at night. Tokua airport was temporarily closed yesterday to jet and turbo engine aircraft. Propeller engine aircraft were allowed to use the airport.
