Today (11th July 2007) there were four eruptions at Gamkonora volcano in Indonesia. The first eruption occurred at 0010 hr, the second eruption at 0200 hr, the third eruption at 0730 hr, and the fourth eruption at 0800 hr was the largest with ash emission to an altitude of 2000 m. The number of evacuees is 8621 and the volcano remains at maximum level 4 alert (awas).
