A small hydrothermal eruption occurred at Ruapehu volcano on Wednesday evening 4th October at 10:30 pm (local time). The water level in the summit crater lake has risen by 1 m, and water temperature increased from 15°C to 22.5°C. Seismic activity remains above background levels.
